Nano Fiction 6 : Love Heals

Hello readers!

Today, I am verrrryyyy happy!

I had an amazing defence for my Master's thesis. Officially, MTech is over. Now, PhD! *hides* because I want a 'Dr.' ahead of my name. THAT'S IT!

One and a half hour. 102 slides presentation. External examiner. Grilling session. But it's all done.

Ahhhhh *loud scream* *happy dance*

I would like to thank soooo many supportive people who were with me in this amazing journey and always had faith in me!

I am grateful to SAMEER, IIT Bombay for my MTech internship and S.P.I.T for an amazing exposure to research!

Thank you Universe for all the positive vibes.

Just a thought - "Life is a balance sheet and in the end there always is profit and everything tallies."

A romantic Nano Fiction for today, because today I am happy and not in a Devdas-writer-mood or not in killing-a-character-mood today. Not today! :D

Happy reading. Do leave your precious comments below!

.. And In Time, This Too Shall Pass

This is totally a random poem. I am unsure if I should call it a poem even! But it randomly got penned in my 'notes' last night. I thought to share it on my blog today, as it goes with the theme of the next IndiSpire section.

We often get pensive when something goes terribly wrong in our lives. But we never should forget, "This too shall pass". Do good, it will come back to you. Sometimes the more you try to get a grip of the situation, you feel in the pit of your stomach like you're swimming and you want to rest your feet on something solid - but the water's deeper and there's nothing that can stabilize you there. It is okay to not know everything now. Remember your pain is changing you, make sure it changes you for your good.

And don't worry about your heart. It isn't so delicate. It has the stamina to last for a lifetime, trust me. No bone there to break, securely wrapped in a set of ribs, your heart is built to take a punch and still be strong enough!

So here's what I penned down last night very spontaneously after a long session of chronic thinking. It surely leaves me inspired and I look forward to life, each day. Ah, my blog link spells it too "aayeshashewholives" *wide grin* -

"Inner musings,
Inky darkness,
Somber night,
Reflects my mood,
Not everything lasts forever,
Neither the good times, nor the bad times,
And in time, this too shall pass,
Lesson learnt."

Nano Fiction 5 : Atheist

And there are days, when you beg yourself to be strong, staring at yourself in the mirror with tears trickling down your cheeks and you just try to hold on and be strong.

But, life is too small for hatred or bad vibes. Embrace positivity.

Life is unpredictable. Take chances, risks are what life is all about.

Do something as if it is your last time, put in your best - in loving someone, in helping others, because you never know, it might be the last time you're doing it.

Maybe today is indeed the last day of your life. Live it like one.

With this positivity, the next Nano Fiction is here.

Nano Fiction 4 : First Night

Hello! So the next Nano Fiction is a bit cheesy! And I was bored weaving sad, heartbreaking stories.

After I finished drafting this one, I was left smiling.

Well, I guess that's the effect reading ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ has on you! (Chuckles) Oh, you can judge me now, I don't care! :P

A hyped book needs to be read. It calls for your attention, after all!

By the way, I super love this song from Viraasat and probably that's how I wanted this little piece of fiction to end - with a lyrical note leaving the readers to imagine a lot ahead! *winks*

Nano Fiction 2 : Memories

I am back with another nano tale!

“Nano Fiction 2”!

I am really taking efforts to push everything I want to say in the least amount of words and weave a story. It gets tough at times, but I am enjoying it. I hope I get better at this, with time.

Leave it for my readers to judge.

Nano Fiction 1 : Tense

A big hello to all who stumbled upon my blog accidentally or are loyal readers! Hi! I value each one of you.

Today, I have something exciting to share! I am starting a new section on my blog, today on, called the “Nano Fiction”! My major aim to start it off is to help myself build stories in the minimum possible number of words and improve my word power.

I like trying new things and this is one of them. I have pledged to invest more time in my blog and improve my writing skills.

Inspired by many fellow bloggers, story tellers, Terribly Tiny Tales and so many others, I wanted to take it up too.

I may not be exceptional, but I definitely wanted to try it! Who is a better judge than the reader? So here’s the first one. Do leave your comments below and let me know how it is!

Life And Wrong Choices

Writing liberates me of pent up emotions. Today's post is going to be a bit of ranting with a bit of muft gyaan. ;)

I saw an old couple walk past me, today.

The man was older than her,
I guess it because he walked too slowly and had more grey hair than her.

The women slowed her pace and matched his footsteps.
They honestly brought tears of happiness in my eyes, ask why?

How fortunate is such kind of love?
I imagine the many times they have had fights too, but dealt with everything,
A love that never gives up on each other, is always intact!

And every being on this planet deserves a love like this, I thought.
And if someone doesn't love you this way, please let them go!

You see, the people who do not choose you daily, can do without you as well.

Some people are just cold enough to replace you with people and some! (laughs) even replace you with animals, they love. Yes, you read me right. People consider animals better than you too. The world is full of weird, ungrateful people. "Never mind," Mother Teresa said!

Whatever it be, you should know, it's time you give them their comfort (with the people or animals they find solitude with!) and let them be happy. Time is the best teacher and God always has bigger plans for all.

Let your relationship be such that one day, when another girl like me passes by you both, she smiles at you with tears of joy.

Be with someone who you don't have to beg to, to have you in their lives.

People WILL come, promise and people WILL leave. That's life!

But when you see old couples, it strengthens your belief that maybe one day, there will be someone who refuses to give up on you too, despite every damn thing. That person should only affect you and your well-being. That person is worth the keep.

You should do all it takes to save a relationship, with anyone for that matter, up to a certain extent. But once you realize, they are not interested to improve things, you better know your answer. There is no good in investing in cold people and dead relationships, ever.

Value your life and grow happiness around you. Keep people around you happy. What goes around, comes around. At times you WILL realize, some people are not going to give you even the half of good you gave them. It's alright. Life has to go on!

Because, now you will realize how incomplete you were even after being with them, when you see an old couple walking hand in hand, supporting each other at each step. Some of us are unlucky in loving cowards, because they will always run away when tough times crop up. The best thing they do is, teach you how to live without them and trust me, the show goes on. Nothing stops, like the way you thought would. The world doesn't care. That reminds me of the song, "Kehne ko sath apne ek duniya chalti hai, par chupke iss dil mein tanhayi palti hai." (Blame my filmy self)

Oh even that one, from Page 3: "Kitne ajeeb rishtey hai yahan pe, do pal milte hai, saath saath chalte hai, jab mod aaye toh bach ke nikalte hai!"

When your tears don't move the person you are shedding them for, when your ill health doesn't disturb the person you love, please understand, it is one sided love, which will never bring you any stability. Spare yourself of unnecessary suffering. Stability is in the old couple I saw today.

If you are struggling today, just do away with the issue that pricks you like a mental thorn, don't let it bother you.  Life will twist you and make you realize, the people you put on a pedestal do not really deserve to be there.

Staying alone sometimes is far better than wrong choices.

On the other hand, the positives: Wrong choices don't always bring you sadness. Be grateful for the nice things it got along and be content with the lesson it taught you. We can make our lives a lot easier if we understand the fact that our time with certain people is limited. If your time with a certain person is over, let it be, let it go. Don't be too hard on yourself. Go with the flow. In life, one thing leads to another, remember.

It is perfectly okay to not know all the answers in life, right away. It will be revealed to you when you are ready and when it is best for you to know! Don't give someone the privilege to rent a useless space in your mind and heart. They hurt you because you let them. All the sufferings in the world can end only if YOU wish to cease them.

Forget yesterday, because it has already forgotten you. Stay happy, smile more often and be happy to be breathing, right now!! And see, it does magic! It flips all the bad things to good and now life seems to be content. Value yourself enough to save yourself from wrong choices.

Life is a balance sheet and in the end there always is profit and everything tallies!

P.S:
1.  Just a random assertion, I appreciate women who save themselves.
2. I just read The Bombay Times today and guess what! Pyar Ka Punchnama 3 will be made from a women's perspective! I am excited :D
3. I am going to promise myself to invest more time in my baby blog now on. More posts to go live from time to time!
4. Time to be happy is now, place to be happy is here! Don't postpone your happiness.
5. We must learn who is gold, and who is simply gold plated!
6. I am happy today, I do not know why, but eeeeeeee :D *a big smile* Maybe I am just at peace today!
7. I know I can be a bhashan giver, I am a professor anyway! I loooove to rant.. *winks* But.. But.. I would secretly love to be a motivational speaker one day, inspiring people to be happy! :)

Your Partner Is Your Fan For Life!

Yesterday, I heard Bruce Dickinson talk. He said many, many things worth idolizing. He was talking on how we should convert customers to fans on our blogs.

The way he pointed out the difference between a customer and a fan simply left me amazed. It taught me something that I shall never forget for the rest of my life.

I am 23, I do mistakes. I get restless and take quick decisions. I regret later, at times. But with people like Bruce Dickinson who leave you with beautiful insights about life, there's so much to learn.

I say many a things when I am angry to people I love. But women hardly mean what they say, when they are angry. This will resonate only with the women, I am sure. Men would just find this statement as a clarification and a dumb reason.

He said, "A customer always has the freedom to walk away from your shop. He just glances at your stuff, if he doesn't like it, he walks off. But a fan, is loyal. Fans are committed to you. Just like your life partner. Your life partner is a permanent fan, not a customer."

A take away I got from this quote was, always be grateful to your partner for accepting you and loving you the way they do. Because they commit to you. And commitment, is a scary word. Not all appreciate its beauty.

He added, "You don't immediately divorce your partner after a fight, you try to make it work somehow. Because they are your fans - lifelong fans."

If there's real chemistry between you two, don't give it up for anybody, because awesome things don't happen often in life.

I learned my lesson, because blame it on my young age, I am always looking for instant solutions for problems in my life. And yes, after taking grave, big decisions I land myself in more painful trouble, sometimes. At testing times, we all become rigid and conclude things, leave no scope for discussion or knowing the view of the other person, it possibly could be that there is another aspect of reality, you are unaware of.

Sometimes, we spoil the beautiful kaleidoscope of our own life with our own hands. So, moral of the story, to cut it short, take a stand, live with who you want to be, stay loyal and work for what and who you really want in your life.

Things do reach a crunch point, but life always tests you. And relationships are always put through trials.

But remember, conclusions are for scientists, you and me are regular people. What troubles us today, attracts us tomorrow.

To be honest, there is a coward in each one of us. To lose the people and things we utterly love. Make your relationships matter and do what it takes to keep them intact and beautiful. Always talk and discuss what troubles you, with your partner. When you're not ready to hear them out, that kills half the charm of your relationship.

Take blame for the wrong you did, say sorry, you do not become small. But never let your permanent fan walk away. It will be a serious loss.

For a few imperfections, do not ever forget the amazing countless things your partner did for you in the past. Remember, when they brought you medicines when you were unwell? They skipped office to visit you? Remember, when they fed you with their own hands? They didn't need to do that, yet they did. Remember all the sweet names they called you? Remember, when they didn't have a look at their wallet and bought you all that you set your eyes on? Remember when you both said that you are the light in each other's dark lives? Whatever happened to that now?

Oh have you forgotten they got you your favorite sugar-free sweet, because you didn't like too much sugar? Remember when they pulled out a pen and hastily wrote their name on your hand? Remember when they encouraged you to do all that you love and were happy in your achievements? Remember, remember, they agreed to gobble your burnt rotis too? Remember they never lied to you, about even the tiniest of thing? Remember the way they wipe sweat off your face?

Accept it, you get the taste of heaven when with them. You live your fairytale with them. People may come people may go, seasons may come seasons may go but your love for them will never diminish.

Your partner becomes your CNS, your support system. You may become over confident for a while and say, you can do without them, but the fact is you cannot. Only when you are away from them, you realize their importance as tears trickle down your cheeks.

Never take your fan for granted. Your partner may be a person of few words, little gestures, and simple surprises, but that fills your black & white life with colors.

Never ignore the "fan" who always cares about you, nags for your safety. Because one day, you will push them so far away, that it would be difficult to trace them back.

Just like a fan decides whether an artist's work is a hit or a flop, your life long fan decides your mental and physical well-being. Even if you're angry with the person who means the world to you, take a moment, ponder, see past your memories and decide, "Is he/she worth letting go? Can your life ever come back to where it was before them?" You will always get a reply from within you, "Love deserves a second/third..../infinite chance!"

In today's generation too, there are few people who love with all they have. They are left empty, damaged and shallow when a relationship fails. And at times, you feel you can damage your self-respect too in loving a few people, but then you realize if they loved you back, they would never put you in that dilemma.

When they say, "I'll always be with you, no matter what." Some people really mean those words. Don't let them go! Respect your fan-for-life, dignify them and their rights and never give up if you have found something you never found in anybody else earlier.

A message to self: Learn to control your anger and disgust. That's what careless words do. They make people love you a little less.

I am always afraid of losing people who love me, because I never had a long list of such people anyway! They say everyone you lose is not a loss, but they never tell you, these are all cooked up words, a particular loss is all lost, because that is all you ever had. One day, you realize you are not a robot to wash all the beautiful memories, pictures and walk past clean. You are marked with a person's love and it gets impossible to move ahead without that person.

I hear so many love stories that die young. Don't let your love die a slow death. Because with it, hope, dreams and all your plans die too. Many a times, when we observe the other person doesn't love us the way we wish, we feel they don't love us at all. Having that one person to love all your life gives a  sense of purpose.

If you fall for every second person, that is not Love. It is love when whatever happens, there is this one person you cannot simply get out of your mind and heart and you then know, you're their fan forever. A partner is a fan, a promise that you'll have a friend forever.

Marriage box is an empty box, love is filled in by the people, the companionship between them. Always cherish the time you spend with your loved ones, you never know which is going to be your last outing or the last lunch. Life is short.

And I don’t even know if these words could ever justify my sincerest gratitude to a few people I truly, truly love. I love you from your head to your toes, to every part of you. I love you for your flaws, your imperfections, and the dreams we have shared and will continue to do so for all my life even if it is, one sided.

The singular purpose of my life is to absorb the riches of your love and give you more love in return. The silent sad poetry that throbs in my chest cannot be uttered in three little words—or 3,000 for that matter. Whenever I try to describe the way I feel for you, every word seems trite and hollow; the whole English language insufficient. In a universe of infinite possibilities, on a planet of seven billion human beings, I want you. And I would give my life for you, whenever you ask for it. I can bleed my heart just to see you smile. I will love you till the end of days.

With my life turning out so unpredictable at every stage, I am just reminded of one song - "Lag ja gale ki phir ye hasin raat ho na ho, shaayad phir is janam mein mulaaqaat ho na ho."

"He is my world,
My world is blessed,
Millions of stars out there,
But I am settling with the sun,
Brightest of them all,
Home is where my fan is,
Or else I'm homeless.

You complete me,
Like a set of puzzle,
Like 2 pieces of lego,
Like a pen and its top,
Like shoe and laces,
Like a child loves his favourite person,
Like a bee loves a flower,
Like a mouse loves cheese,
You unlock a whole new world for me."
